The Macmillan Academy of Copyediting Excellence has been set up with a view to achieve the following:
Provide a continuous stream of highly competent copyeditors for meeting the emerging needs of the customers.
Develop "Accelerated Training Programs" for the copyeditors and constantly evaluate their effectiveness.
Collate and share a body of knowledge and resources relating to excellence in copyediting from the workplace through a dynamic and varied program of development activity supported by ongoing pedagogic research.
Ensure that the staff and trainees are actively engaged and that the work is influenced by other areas of internal and external good practices.
Facilitate the exchange, transfer and further development of excellent and innovative practices across business divisions.
